Popcorn Kitchen Q4 case study: 289% revenue growth with full-service digital marketing
We’ve partnered with Popcorn Kitchen for over 7 years now, which not only means we know their brand inside out, but we’ve eaten a lot of popcorn in the process.
From their iconic Giant Bottles to their festive Advent Houses and beloved Pop-At-Home Kits, Popcorn Kitchen is a brand we’ve helped scale season after season. But Q4 2024? That’s when things really took off.
With Christmas as their biggest sales window, Popcorn Kitchen came to us with one clear goal: “Let’s make this our biggest quarter ever.”
And they did, with 289% revenue growth, 268% more orders, and a customer base that nearly tripled in just 90 days.
We saw similarly standout results with another long-standing client. See how The Cornish Cheese Co smashed their Q4 targets too.
Here’s how we helped them get there.
The challenge: Big ambitions, short window
Popcorn Kitchen had three clear targets in Q4 2024:
- Explode online sales during the peak gifting season
- Bring in new customers (not just repeat buyers)
- Build a scalable customer list to future-proof growth into 2025
And they needed it all without wasting spend or missing key delivery cut-offs in the most competitive quarter of the year.
We needed a full-funnel strategy that delivered on performance and profit. A campaign that didn’t just look good, but drove serious results.
The strategy: Full-service digital marketing that did the heavy lifting
As Popcorn Kitchen’s digital marketing partner, we activated a joined-up campaign across Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram), email marketing, and social media, underpinned by live performance tracking and weekly optimisations.
Here’s what we implemented:
1. Meta Ads that knew how to sell
We ran highly targeted Meta campaigns across Facebook and Instagram, focusing on key gifting products like the Giant Sweet & Salt Bottle, Pop-At-Home Kits, and the full Christmas Collection.
What made it work?
- Audience segmentation from warm brand fans to first-time gifters
- Creative testing using UGC, video, carousels, and lifestyle imagery
- Time-sensitive urgency countdowns to final shipping dates and offers
- Dynamic retargeting keeping product ads front-of-mind for browsers
- Result: A 289% uplift in revenue and 93% new customer rate from paid ads alone.
2. Email marketing with precision and punch
Email was our secret weapon. We mapped out a Q4 calendar across October to December that included:
- Early access offers for subscribers
- Christmas gift guides by product type and budget
- Last-chance shipping emails that converted at record rates
- Post-Christmas sale campaigns that kept revenue flowing into January
We also implemented new flows to welcome, convert, and retain customers automatically, growing the email database by a huge 554%.
Result: Email marketing became one of the top three revenue channels, with a 76% increase in website conversion rate.

3. Organic social that actually converted
It wasn’t just about looking festive; our organic social strategy drove real ROI.
- Instagram and TikTok content plans built around key sales dates
- UGC, reels, giveaways, and behind-the-scenes content to build trust
- Clear CTAs driving traffic back to collection pages
We also collaborated closely with the team on ad hoc content ideas, trending sounds, and user engagement, while supporting their influencer gifting campaigns to maximise reach.
Result: Sales attributed to social traffic rose by 875% quarter-on-quarter. That’s not a typo.
4. Weekly reporting & real-time pivots
This wasn’t a “set it and forget it” campaign. We met weekly with the Popcorn Kitchen team to:
- Review what’s working
- Reallocate budget to top performers
- Pivot ad creatives based on real-time data
- Double down on the hero products that were flying
That agility? It meant we didn’t waste budget on underperforming tactics and got results faster.
The results: Numbers worth shouting about
Here’s what we achieved between October and December 2024:
- 289% Revenue Growth vs. Q4 2023
- 268% Increase in Orders
- 93% of customers were brand new
- 554% Growth in Email Database
- 875% Increase in Sales from Social Media
- 76% Boost in Website Conversion Rate
- 9% Growth in Average Order Value
We didn’t just hit the target, we helped reset what was possible for this brand!
“I am delighted with the step-changing performance of our eCommerce business, driven by the diligent, professional, and exceptional expertise of Kate, Lucy, and the KW Marketing team. Really looking forward to creating the plan for 2025 and continuing on this growth agenda together!”
