Meet Kate, Founder of KW Marketing

After five years in business, the shape of KW Marketing has changed immensely. But one thing has stayed resolutely the same – and that’s our founder, Kate Williams. Kate started up KW Marketing in 2017. She decided to go it alone and took a leap of faith to find KW Marketing, a digital marketing agency that makes a difference.

And what a difference! Since 2017, KW Marketing has empowered many SMEs with their digital marketing strategies, helping them achieve a whole new level of growth and revenue. KW Marketing has also aided bloggers into making their hobby their hustle. At the heart of it all, Kate thrives on our clients’ wins. She started KW Marketing to do what she loves every single day: constantly looking forward to new projects, new challenges and meeting new clients. It’s a testament to her tenacity and industriousness that many of our clients have been with us for years!

So we wanted to re-introduce Kate to you all: founder, leader and friend. We sat down with her to find out more about what makes her raring to go every morning!

What’s your role at KW Marketing?

Founder, director, leader, supporter and biggest SME advocate. After a decade of working for big lifestyle brands, I wanted to be a digital marketing advocate for those businesses without a marketing team. In 2017, it was a big change to go to work, for myself, by myself! The plan was to go above and beyond the norm for SMEs that need that extra hand when navigating the sometimes murky waters of the digital world. And that’s where I stepped in!

What’s your favourite part of working at KW Marketing?

Without a doubt, watching something that I have worked so hard on, GROW! The team, the workload, the projects, the skillsets… EVERYTHING. It’s so rewarding to look back and see where I started all those years ago with KW Marketing and where we are now. I can’t wait for the next five years to see again how we have changed, adapted and THRIVED!

What was your background before joining KW Marketing?

I worked brand side at a range of businesses, always learning and always growing. I then moved on to the agency side and realised there was no reason why I couldn’t go and do it on my own. And, I have never looked back!

What is the number one marketing tool you can’t live without?

Monday.com. It’s the mechanics of our whole operation and I LOVE it.

Describe yourself in three words.

Organised, Driven & Passionate!

What do you like to do outside work?

Number one is always keeping fit and eating healthy foods! I’m a total foodie and am always cooking up a storm or hunting out some amazing restaurants in my part of Devon. My family and friends are always here to keep me going and have fun on the weekends. They’re my biggest supporters, life coaches and dance buddies! Being based in Devon, I also love boating and mainly anything sea related. When the weather is good, catch me on the sea, enjoying our beautiful south Devon coastline and taking in every bit of calm I can.

What is one brand you always look to for inspiration?

Sungod, I love their brand and have watched it from the day they launched. They’re doing such cool things in the e-Commerce space. Go and check them out!

And finally, if you were stranded on a desert island, what would be your three need-to-haves?

  1. Nivea lippy – I literally can’t live without it! I’ve got so many squirrelled away in every corner of my house – hydration is an absolute necessity!
  2. Gin – always! My absolute favourite is Salcombe Gin (just down the road from me in Devon!) and it’s definitely a MUST need when stranded on a beach!
  3. Chocolate – no day goes without it. There is never a KW Marketing meeting without some form of chocolate. Our favourite is Tony’s Chocolonely Salted Caramel! Delicious!
